It’s the start of a new year, and PSG continues to see its players hit by injury. First came Kang-in Lee, with a left quadriceps injury. Now, it looks like Gonçalo Ramos is out for the rest of the season.
According to L’Equipe, Ramos is out of the PSG squad that will take on RC Lens on Saturday. The Portuguese international is suffering from muscle pain, the French media outlet reported.
The report did not say how long Ramos will be out of action, but PSG will have to act carefully. Still, this injury could speed up the process of signing another striker before the end of the summer transfer window.
Even so, the fact that Lee and Ramos aren’t in the starting lineup is a disappointment. They’re both new players, and part of this Ligue 1 giants’ new-found emphasis on building a team, even if it isn’t loaded with superstars.
Lee is likely to remain the creative midfielder, while Ramos could finally take over the No. 9 spot from Kylian Mbappe. Now, let’s see how long it takes for both of them to be on the field.
