Fake German heiress ‘What the Hell?’ by Anna Sorkin serves as her musical debut.

While under house arrest on Friday, convicted con artists Anna Sorokin—better known under the
alias Anna Delvey when she pretended to be a fake German heiress—released a country song.

According to NBC News, Sorokin tries out the country music subgenre in the music, which was
created together with TikTok songwriter Brooke Butler and the band Music Chauteu. After
imitating a German heiress called Anna Delvey and defrauded banks, hotels, and acquaintances
of hundreds of thousands of dollars, Sorokin became well-known in the public.

While under house arrest in Manhattan, Sorokin (also known as Anna Delvey) performed on the
song together with the band Audio Chateau and TikTok songwriter Brooke Butler. The name of
it is “What the Hell,” and according to Deadline, it will be used as both the podcast’s opening and
theme music, “The Anna Delvey Show,” presented by Sorokin.

The almost 2.5-minute song has voices from Sorokin that were recorded during a call she made
while imprisoned on Riker’s Island. Her voice is heard saying, “My name is Anna Delvey.”
The song was co-written by Butler, Scarlett Burke, and AudioUP CEO Jared Gutstadt.

Gutstadt told to NBC News

According to Gutstadt, Sorokin “curated” the songs by taking into consideration the tracks he
supplied her and choosing the one that would serve as “the brand” for her podcast.

Gutstadt said, “Songs are songs; I’ve written a lot of them. “But without some sort of brand where
people could latch on to, you’re competing with hundreds of millions of new songs coming out
every year on Spotify.” Gutstadt also said that Sorokin’s notoriety—or infamy—will play a
significant role in the new song’s radio playing.

He said that the new song will get airplay because of Sorokin’s notoriety because of the popular
Netflix limited series “Inventing Anna.” Her infiltration into New York society while posing as a
wealthy heiress was depicted in the series, which also detailed how she ripped off major financial
organizations, banks, hotels, and individuals for a total of $275,000 by stealing from them.

ICE CUSTODY

To get on radio, you often must work quite hard, according to Gutstadt. I believe that some
individuals are intrigued and drawn to her name. Produced by Sean Glass, “The Anna Delvey Show” podcast is distributed by AudioUP.

“This is the first time that people are hearing from her directly, allowing her to actually have a
voice,” Glass said to NBC News.

Sorokin spent years pretending to be a rich daughter of a German ambassador, going by the
name Anna Delvey. Before her scam became known, she touted a fictitious wealth of 60 million
euros and was active in the social scene in New York City for years.

BACK TO 2019 WHEN ANNA FELT GUILTY

Delvey was found guilty of eight counts, including attempted grand larceny in the first degree,
grand larceny in the second degree, grand larceny in the third degree, and theft of services, back
in 2019. She initially received a sentence of four to twelve years in jail; however, she was
released early in February 2021.

According to the terms of her release, Sorokin was let out of jail in October on a $10,000 bail
bond and has been forced to live in house confinement for the duration of her release, with
electronic monitoring and no access to social media.
