According to sources, Chelsea is considering making an offer for Neymar but will hold off until it is sure that the Brazilian star is willing to leave Paris Saint-Germain.
Le Parisien reports that the arrival of new manager Luis Enrique shows that the Brazilian may be willing to stay. It had been said that the Brazilian was planning to leave this summer, following players like Leo Messi. They both worked at Barcelona, when the Spaniard guided his squad to a triple in the Champions League, La Liga, and the Copa del Rey.
Neymar is currently committed to PSG till June 2027. According to Le Parisien, Neymar’s preferences and personal goals for the latter part of his career are “still a mystery”. Despite having four years left on his contract with the Parisian giants, the future of the most expensive player in the world remains in question.
The Ligue 1 winners, who have won the league twice, may be ready to try and transfer the pricey forward to comply with Financial Fair Play rules because he has proven to be quite costly for them.
According to a French newspaper, Chelsea would be interested in making Neymar an offer if he should decide to leave Ligue 1, and the Blues are reportedly keeping a close eye both on him and the incoming manager. If Neymar were to leave Paris Saint-Germain, it would probably occur through a transfer rather than a loan with an option to purchase, as had been previously rumored and again by the French newspaper. Additionally, the site states that Neymar is currently valued at between $50 million and $70 million, which is a amount way from the €222 million that PSG spent for him when they shipped him to Barcelona in 2017.
He would rejoin with another former coach, Mauricio Pochettino, who oversaw PSG for little over 18 months and under whose leadership he won the Coupe de France and the Ligue 1 championship if he moved to London with Chelsea.
