The world’s largest modern downtown will be built in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; the country announces the New Murabba Development Corporation. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia has announced the establishment of the New Murabba Development Corporation, which aims to transform downtown Riyadh by creating a distinctive living, working, and entertainment experience and contribute to the city’s future growth in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

Who will construct the Project?

The project will be developed by New Murabba Development Corporation, which will also construct the “Mukaab,” a landmark with cutting-edge modern technology. The Mukaab, according to Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, will be big enough to contain 20 Empire States.

All about “Mukaab” Details

The “Mukaab” will be the first immersive destination in the world, giving an experience made possible by digital and virtual technology using the most advanced holographics. Its design was inspired by the contemporary Najdi architectural style.

The “Mukaab” will consist of a tower perched above a spiraling foundation and a 2 million square meter building with a variety of retail, cultural, and tourism attractions in addition to residential and hotel units, office buildings, and recreational amenities.

Murabba Project Information

The New Murabba project will be constructed on the idea of sustainability and include green spaces, walking and cycling trails that will improve the quality of life by encouraging active, healthy lives and social interactions.

Together with more than 80 venues for entertainment and culture, the project will also include a renowned museum, a university for technology and design, a multipurpose immersive theater, and others.

With its own internal transportation system, the New Murabba project will provide a distinctive living, working, and leisure experience within a 15-minute walking distance. The drive from the airport will take about 20 minutes.

The new development project, which will cover an area of 19 square kilometers, will include more than 104,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, more than 980,000 square meters of retail space, 1.4 million square meters of office space, 620,000 square meters of leisure assets, and 1.8 million square meters of space devoted to community facilities. It will also include more than 1.4 million square meters of office space.
